10th TURKMENISTAN GAS CONGRESS (TGC 2019)
The 10th Turkmenistan Gas Congress is organized by Turkmengas State Concern in partnership with Turkmen Forum Company, and will take place in the Berkara Hotel, Avaza (Balkan Province, Turkmenistan) on 21-22 of May 2019.
The Congress, a prestigious business forum, is held annually to develop and strengthen international partnerships between Turkmen state organisations and the international oil and gas industry. A detailed review of Turkmenistan’s gas market and the latest petrochemical projects and project opportunities will be presented, and the world’s leading oil and gas companies will share their visions and expertise.
Senior management and representatives of both Turkmen State organisations and leading international oil and gas companies, plus major international financial institutions have regularly attended the Congress. These include Hyundai, Kawasaki, Shell, Petronas, Gazprom, Gaffney, Cline and Associates, NAPECO, Vitol, CNPC, Dragon Oil, ENI, BP, Mobil, Buried Hill, World Bank, IFC, ADB, ILF, EBRD, Allen & Overy and many others.
In line with the draft program, the first day of the Congress will include presentations and panels sessions to exchange expertise and to update attendees on the status of key projects currently underway in the Turkmen gas and petrochemical sectors. This year will introduce thematic panel sessions which will be held in the afternoon and will address such themes as “Trends in the Petrochemical Sector”, “Developing Cooperation under PSAs” and “The Turkmen‑Afghan‑Pakistan‑India (TAPI)” pipeline. The sessions will be moderated by experts from Gaffney, Cline and Associates and who have considerable experience of these projects. Senior representatives of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry and leaders of other companies currently operating in Turkmenistan will participate in these sessions in order to provide first‑hand input to the discussions.
On the second day, there will be similar presentations and panel discussions on current gas and petrochemical projects, together with discussions on further similar international investment opportunities within this sector. A signing ceremony will also take place for recently agreed contracts and memoranda.
During this major gas and petrochemical business forum, representatives of foreign companies will have the opportunity to meet with senior officials from national oil and gas companies of Turkmenistan and to discuss both topical issues and opportunities for cooperation and investment. In addition, all attendees will be invited to join a guided tour to the Turkmengas and Petronas gas processing plants in Kiyanly.
